Open data

VeganSpots is built on OpenStreetMap. Our place database is a derivative of OpenStreetMap data and is published under the Open Database License (ODbL).

The data is © OpenStreetMap contributors and VeganSpots, available under the ODbL 1.0. You are free to copy, distribute, transmit and adapt it, as long as you credit OpenStreetMap and VeganSpots and share any derived database under the same licence. Some places and details come from Overture Maps (© Overture Maps Foundation, CDLA-Permissive-2.0). In Montréal, places are also checked against the city’s food establishment permits (Ville de Montréal, CC-BY 4.0); in Toronto, against the City of Toronto’s business licences and Toronto Public Health’s DineSafe inspections (contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence – Toronto); in Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton, against each city’s business licences (contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence – Vancouver and the Open Government Licence – City of Calgary; City of Edmonton Open Data Terms of Use).

Exports include places only. Accounts, reviews, photos and internal research logs are excluded. Photos retain the separate license and attribution shown beside each image.
